CERAMIC FISH WIND CHIMES

Fourth graders drew a school of four fish and cut them out to create paper templates. They rolled out slabs of clay and used the templates to cut out their fish, which were then embossed with sea shells to create a variety of textures. After they dried, the fish were bisque-fired, glazed, and then re-fired. The students then strung the fish together using hemp. Every wind chime has a very different tone, depending on the size and thickness of the fish.
